Great to attend the The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award England Network Event in Bristol last week with Ben Miller, our DofE Manager.
It was a real boost to connect with colleagues from across the network, share experiences, and reflect on how we continue to strengthen the impact of the DofE programme for all young people.
One of the most valuable parts of the day was the conversation around inclusion, especially how we ensure DofE is accessible, achievable and meaningful for young people with SEND. Hearing how different schools and organisations are adapting delivery to meet students where they are was both inspiring and genuinely practical.
Because the DofE has huge power to build confidence, independence and resilience and it matters that those opportunities are open to every young person, regardless of their starting point.
The discussions around the Young Leaders Programme and inclusive delivery were particularly encouraging, and we’re excited to take some of those ideas forward.
A big thank you to the organisers for such a thoughtful, collaborative event and to everyone who shared insights so openly!
And a special mention to Ben Miller, our DofE Manager, for the ongoing work he leads in making these opportunities real for our students.
Great to connect and continue the conversation with Sophia King too, looking forward to building on this and continuing to champion inclusive opportunities for young people.
